This film was made by the Children's Film Foundation
Gary gained this part after he and his brother attended Anna Scher's
Drama club as a child.
This film is avaiible in the UK on DVD.
According to Empire magazine, The Children's Film and Television Foundation was set up in 1951 as a non profit
making organisation by British film industry bodies, "...for the production, promotion, organisation, distribution
and exhibition of cinematograph films specially suitable for showing at children's matinees and other performances
given specially for children, or for the entertainment of children in any part of the world.""
Most of the films according to Empire, "Concerned a group of kids who
foil a band of diamond thieves." Hide and Seek however was all about a
young boy called Keith. Keith absconds from from an Approved School in
the hope that his father will take him to Canada. However, Keiths
father seems more interested in robbing a bank.
Other well known names to have starred in Children's Film Foundation productions include Dennis Waterman, Phil
Collins, Keith Chegwin, and Bernard Cribbins.
